Grief Group
“When our grief cannot be spoken, it falls into the shadow and re-arises in us as symptoms.”
- Francis Weller
Grief is a natural and deeply personal response to loss, yet many of us struggle to navigate it in a healthy way. The Grief Recovery Method is a structured, evidence-based program designed to help individuals move forward with their grief with a sense of peace and well-being rather than trying to somehow move on from their grief. Unlike talk therapy, this action-oriented approach provides practical tools to address unresolved emotions and create meaningful healing. Whether you’re grieving the loss of a loved one, a relationship, or any major life change, the Grief Recovery Method offers a compassionate path forward, allowing you to honor your experiences while making space for hope and renewal.
There is so much fear and anxiety around grief, which makes it more uncomfortable to hold. Grief is not a place of deadness; it may be fierce, but it is radically alive. The goal isn’t to fix grief because it isn’t a problem to be solved. It is a presence waiting to be witnessed. Grief isn’t a clinical problem; it becomes clinical when what it needs is denied. Grief isn’t meant to be held continuously. It’s meant to move and cycle. When we do our grief work, we become more present to hold what is before us and what is coming.
“I found Maria in a very fragile time…She helped me navigate a devastating period of life, providing me with gentle and effective support for anxiety that a doctor attempted to prescribe me medication for. With Maria’s guidance, I was able to get through it without medication. During this period of time I experienced a deep loss and Maria was an anchor for me in a time I wasn’t sure I would survive. Looking back, I’m still not sure how I made it out, or if I could have managed without her help. She was there for me in a powerful way and I am forever grateful. We developed a very close and unique…relationship and I highly recommend her services for anyone who is looking for an empathetic, kind, and intuitive therapist who will partner with you and accommodate to your changing needs.”

More About Grief Groups
“What has become clear is how difficult it is for us to attend to our grief in the absence of community.” - Francis Weller
Participating in a grief group provides us with the empowerment it takes to navigate the complexities and mysteries of grief. Group work offers many benefits in which a small number of people meet together on a weekly basis. This group dynamic helps us realize we are not alone in our grief process. By participating with others in a group, we begin to see that our individual grief process is both unique and universal in different ways. Our psyche requires periodic times of letting what’s in us be held by others. Grieving is meant to be communal, acknowledged together and when it isn’t held in a communal way, it tends to mutate. What we crave is some space that welcomes all of who we are. If you are ready to gain new tools that will move you forward in your grief process, give me a call or schedule a free consult. I look forward to being a part of your journey.
